How long should you live in your new purchased home before hosting such party? Would you register somewhere for gifts?
I have lived in the home just short of one year, is it still too late?

I had my open house as soon as I got the Kitchen unpacked. I like to cook/bake. Have the open house as soon as you want, as soon as can host a party and be comfortable.
Register somewhere, sure, if they ask you can tell them.
