Need to know what to do about website. Hosting company has closed down with no warning. What happens now? Is the website and domain name lost?

you can go to the domain name registration authorities as long as u legally still own a domain and your provider has gone under or refuses to release your domain name for transfer, or that your domain has run out and someone else has registered the name in "bad faith" IE bribing you for the domain offering it to you for a ridiculous amount of money
